Decreasing the Achievement Gap With STEM
In this presentation 4 superintendents will describe their STEM partnerships that include professional development for principals and teachers, engagement events, community partners and real world problems for students to solve. These superintendents will share their vision for STEM, their multi-year comprehensive plans, their funding sources and their marketing of the work to their parents and STEM stakeholders. They will also share their lessons learned and measures of success.
Dr. Cindy Moss has presented at numerous conferences on STEM including US News STEM Solutions, National Title One, National Science Teachers Association, ASCD National conference, Global Women in STEM conference in Dubai, British Schools of Brazil STEM conference, etc. For 10 years she was the Director of PreK-12 STEM for the Charlotte Mecklenburg NC schools and used STEM to decrease the achievement gap.
