Social-Emotional Learning for Student Success
Teaching social-emotional learning (SEL) can help schools create a climate and culture where kids can learn and thrive both socially and academically. This presentation will share what the research shows in terms of which social-emotional skills are most important and what research says about the links between SEL and academic success using Committee for Children's evidenced based Second Step SEL Program as an example.

Amy Walker is a Client Outreach Manager at Committee for Children, the developers of The Second Step Social Emotional Learning Program. She has been supporting districts implementing Committee for Children's resources for over a decade in hundreds of schools around the country. Her background also includes experience working in a preschool, and elementary school, and a high school teaching ELL skills.
