Educational Equity Technology Toolkit

The National Title I Association and Consortium for School Networking jointly released a toolkit designed to strengthen the critical relationship between district Title I and education technology leaders to improve educational equity. Titled “Rethinking Educational Equity in a Digital Era: Forging a Strong Partnership Between District Title I and Technology Leaders,” the report arrives as technology increasingly becomes an everyday part of teaching and learning and addresses the growing complexity of attaining fairness and equity in our schools.

Included are stories of successful cooperative efforts between Title I and Ed Tech from Loudoun County Public Schools (VA), Clark County School District (NV) and Raytown Quality Schools (MO). Each of the examples illuminates collaborative practices that benefit students.

The toolkit was developed with support from Comcast, Kajeet and Promethean.

How To Use This Resource

The toolkit provides a brief background on Title I and details the importance and meaning of educational equity in the 21st century amid the growing advances in digital capabilities. To help leaders raise their level of dialogue, the resource provides readers with key implementation factors for technology-enabled educational success, a discussion guide for planning technology integration into Title I programs, and 10 tips for building collaboration between the Title I Director and the chief technology officer (or other related district technology leader).
